2017 Mountain Mandarin Festival
The Placer County hills are turning orange as the annual crop of mountain mandarins ripen. The warm days and cool nights are the perfect temperature for these delicious fruit and Penryn, Newcastle, Loomis, Lincoln, and Auburn are alive with ripe and nutritious mandarins.

The 2017 Mountain Mandarin Festival, which celebrates the kickoff of mandarin season, is just around the corner. This year, the Mountain Mandarin Festival will be held at the Gold Country Fairground in Auburn from November 17th – 19th.

For those who are visiting the area and new to this wonderful fall event, the Gold Country Fairgrounds are located at 1273 High Street in Auburn, CA.

In addition to fresh fruit from a variety of local growers, the Mountain Mandarin Festival also serves up mandarin infused drinks, mandarin cooking demonstrations, and other fun mandarin creations.

Crafts and other holiday gifts items will also be available from more than 150 vendors. Kids activities, clowns, and rides make this an activity for the whole family.

Make your home SAFE for Halloween

halloween
Halloween is just around the corner and excited little trick-or-treaters will soon be at your door. As you hang those fun Halloween decorations, consider how to also make your home safe for those little visitors.
Here are some helpful ideas from Imperial Mortgage & Real Estate Services:
Clear Walkways and Stairs
Trick-or-treaters are typically laden with masks and fancy costumes, so having your walkways and stairs clear is one of the best ways to prevent tripping. Those little ghosts and goblins are too busy counting candy, so sweep those walkways, remove any obstacles that might cause them to stumble, and keep the Halloween decorations safely out of their path.
Light the Way
String some festive lights and make sure the exterior lights on your walkways are all working and properly illuminating the pathways, stairs, porch. A dimly lit walkway may set the mood, but it also increases the chance of an accident.
Avoid Candles
Glowing jack-o’-lanterns and flickering candles make your home welcoming and attractive, but consider battery powered candles, especially outside where the little ones will be walking. Costumes are often long and flowing and real flame could pose real problems. Instead of traditional candles, use the battery powered ones. They now come in varieties that imitate the flickering candle and are just as attractive without the risk.

Halloween is about ghosts, goblins, and spooks, but this ‘frightening’ reputation doesn’t mean it should be dangerous. Consider the above safety tips for your home and enjoy the cute little trick-or-treaters, some Halloween candy, family, friends, and holiday cheer!

Happy Halloween from the home specialists at Imperial Mortgage & Real Estate.

Changing Seasons

Real Estate has its seasons…

changing seasonsAs we move closer to “the holidays” there are fewer and fewer houses on the market and understandably so. This year has certainly been a sellers market with low inventory throughout the entire year.

My best advice for buyers is to take this time to get your “financial house” in order so when 2018 gets here, you are in an ideal situation to find the new home that you’ve been dreaming of.

The article below provides sound advice on how to make that happen. Even though it is written to address first-time home buyers, it does a great job of helping you set up your finances for making a strong offer when the time is right.

Enjoy the article and our beautiful Autumn here in the Sierra Foothills.

Market Update

The real estate market in our area is a very strong sellers’ market because of lack of inventory and lots of buyers competing for the few properties that are available. If you price your property correctly, you will get multiple offers and a slew of showings and interest. What a Great time to sell!

Lots of new loan products out there for folks who have gone thru a foreclosure and several new programs for first time buyers with only 3% down. Call me for details. Do you know someone who needs to buy or sell in this market? That’s why I’m here so give me a call…

Keith’s Korner

Margie and I just got back from a week in Cancun, Mexico where we celebrated  our 30th anniversary! We had a great time and we are very proud of our accomplishment of raising 6 kids in this world and keeping our marriage in tact!  We are blessed beyond belief!

Kids are all doing well. Stuart gets his driver’s license in a week and promises to be the first Wenger child not to wreck his car! We are hopeful. Jessica and Charla are doing great in Arizona at college and Brent is in Chico and will start Chico State in the fall. Elise will start her Respiratory Therapist training in the fall as well.  Bethany is still Chilin here in Auburn and going to Sierra College and will start her 2nd year in the fall. Hope all is well with you and yours!

How’s this for Nostalgia

My Valentine

My Valentine!

I met my beautiful wife Margie at the Madison Bear Garden in Chico, Ca. in my last semester at Chico State where I studied Marketing. She wasn’t too crazy about me at first because I was a little cocky, loud, etc. but I guess you could say I grew on her!

She is the oldest of 12 children and it took a while, but finally I convinced her to introduce me to her family in Auburn, Ca.  They were not impressed with me at all!  I guess I grew on them too, as we were married one year later.

Two years after that we started our family and it just never stopped!! Margie has blessed me with 6 wonderful kids, 4 girls and 2 boys.

I’m not going to kid myself or any one else by saying that it has always been a smooth ride, but it’s a ride I have come to cherish and my love for her and my family grows every day.

Take some time this Valentine’s Day and do something special for the person you care about.  Cherish your time together as nothing lasts forever!

Happy Valentine’s Day, Keith
